Easter eggs, self-portraits and whales

Lucky Rykahdo won second prize in the Easter Egg raffle at school.

We have been using different techniques to create self-portraits as part of our topic Ko Au.

We have been reading the book 'A Handful of Blue' by Vince Ford. Each week we complete tasks and share them with schools around New Zealand as part of #NZReadAloud. Lexus wrote a news report about the whales stranded on the beach in Chapter 6.

Fun Friday

We are learning how seeds travel around the world. Many seeds need to get away from their parents and escape the 'zone of darkness' to survive. We made rotocopters to show the way some seeds move:

We used Kahoot to practise our maths skills. It was fun!

Ki-o-Rahi

Whaea Gina taught us how to play Ki-o-Rahi on Friday. We had a lot of fun!

We are going to keep our workbooks in magazine files this year and made some labels to brighten up the spines.

Hedgehogs and hockey

Ammoron and SanAnDreas read the book 'Hedgehog Fun'. They followed the instructions in the book to make their own hedgehogs to share with the class. Yum!

Nice work Ammoron and SanAnDreas!

We all loved the fruit and marshmallow hedgehogs.

On Thursday we learnt some hockey skills with Jose.  We practiced passing and stopping the ball before playing a game.

Ready with our hockey sticks!
Danielle  running to receive the ball from her team member.
