Calendar art and healthy eating

We sent our calendar art to Mainfreight for their 2020 calendar. The topic was "what we can do to look after our world". Jayden drew a picture of his whanau picking up rubbish:

Whaea Fui from Project Energise talked to us about Healthy eating. We learned about Grow and Glow foods and Slow foods.

Buddy class and 'show don't tell'

We spent Monday afternoon with Room 10 for some buddy reading. 

For writing we have been learning how to "show don't tell." Lots of us managed to use similes as well!

Autumn leaves and blooming flowers

This week we did some leaf rubbing with Mrs Miller to match our autumn leaves poem.

We also made some cards for special people on Mother's Day. One of the cards we made had a paper flower that opens in water. We didn't manage to get the whole thing on video but this might give you some idea of what happened:

Screencastify

This week we have been practising using Screencastify to show our learning. The experts in Room 3 have been helping others make their first Screencast. There has been some awesome mahitahi this week. Hopefully you will see some screencasting on our blogs soon.
