Cakes and stars

Last week we had a cake stall to raise money for our roller skating trip which is happening in Term 3. Terrah-Kaine brought in an amazing skull cake:


We have been learning about Planet Earth. We made models to demonstrate the earth spinning, making night and day.



We also learnt that the reason we only see Matariki in the winter is because the Earth is orbiting the sun. Here are the 7 Matariki stars hanging in our classroom:

Unicycles and Siapo Patterns



Chris taught us how to ride a unicycle. It is much harder than it looks!





To acknowledge Samoan language week we decorated our windows with Siapo patterns. We followed the instructions in Connected 2 1999 and used the art of symmetry to come up with our own designs.
