We have been taking part in the Young Ocean Explorers 21 day challenge. We have picked up a lot of plastic all around the school over the last two weeks. 482 pieces! The good thing is that it is getting harder to find rubbish now. Today we only found 7 pieces.
We have also been learning to draw lots of different sea creatures to put on our mural. Here are Monique's manta rays:
We had a cake stall on Wednesday with Room 11 to raise money for our trip to Matai Bay in April.

Manakitanga's book this week was called Burger Time. He made a shopping list for the ingredients. Matua Paraire worked with Junior, James and Manaki to follow the instructions in the book and make burgers for lunch. They were delicious.
The first 4 days of school absolutely flew by.
This week was spent catching up after the holiday, making playdough, painting, gardening and learning some new games.
Our big focus for the beginning of the year is learning to say the school mihi and our pepeha with confidence. Some of us enjoy working with a buddy and taking turns, others prefer to practice independently. Mei wrote the whole mihi out on mini whiteboards to help her remember. Impressive!
