Recycling, rubbish and fishing rods

We have been learning about ways to reduce, reuse and recycle our rubbish.
Anouk talked to us about rubbish.

We learned what happens to the rubbish we create.

Using ziplock bags in our lunchboxes. They can be washed and reused.

Our farm trip

The year 2s and 3s from Kaikohe West visited a dairy farm in Ohaeawai. Thank you to DairyNZ for sponsoring us so we could have a free day out with lots of treats. Here are some of the awesome things we did:
We watched the cows being milked.

Then we drank the milk!

We made some delicious butter by shaking cream!
Before the tanker came to collect it.

We worked in teams to show milk's journey from the paddock to our tables.

We fed the calves.

With colostrum!
